An alternative to a traditional tarmac road

Without a doubt, planings are a cheaper alternative to using tarmac, shingle and granite-chipping. Furthermore, it makes an ideal road surface for car parks, haul roads, site roads and farm tracks.

Road Planings are recycled tarmac / asphalt created when the top 40mm of main roads and motorways are removed (planed).

Clearly they are a fantastic cost effective alternative to Tarmac / asphalt or concrete for larger yards. / storage depots / roads/ tracks / car parks /removing of grass areas and making hard standing etc. As a result they are a recycled Tarmac asphalt product they still contain a large percentage of bitumen. Means when rolled with road roller they bind far better than other stone / hardcore products and therefore can have a much longer lifespan.
